Istanbul Modest Fashion Week 2024 took place in April at a stunning historical venue called Fişekhane – Gallery with hundreds of national and international attendees including brands, influencers, media, buyers, and government representatives. 24 brands coming from all over the world showcased their latest collections on the runway to fashion enthusiasts and professionals.
Here are 8 Istanbul Modest Fashion Week brands that you should watch out for:
Bangladeshi designer Niharika Momtaz received full marks from the audience with her latest couture collection last week at IMFW24. The collection featured a variety of colors including bold ones like electric blue and emerald green and neutral ones like pastels and white in feminine silhouettes with furs and sparkles.
Turkish label Zems showcased their ready-to-wear collection at the event and quickly became an audience favorite. The whites, greys, blacks, and nudes were used frequently in the collection. However, the star pieces were the ones in red, both solid and with ethnic patterns.
Continuing with ready-to-wear, American label Citizens of the World is definitely one of the ones we should watch out for. The brand showcased their Spring/Summer collection which was full of bright colors and fun designs that basically symbolized the arrival of warmer months.
Another colorful collection was by the Turkish brand Serpil. Their collection was dominated by greens, oranges, creams, whites, and pinks. The two most common silhouettes were suits with a tied waist and long loose dresses in a variety of fabrics appealing to a wide range of customers.
Egyptian label MRGD’s collection was probably one of the most versatile collections among all Istanbul Modest Fashion Week brands. The collection featured various silhouettes and styles including long loose everyday dresses, form-fitting satin evening dresses, and a few bolder silhouettes. Solid colors were dominating the collection, but you could find some floral printed dresses here in there as well.
Emirati designer Rabail Riaz’s glamorous haute couture collection was one of the ones that lightened up the whole runway. The gold-themed collection featured bold evening gowns made with satin, chiffon, and velvet. The silver and gold embroideries were prominent throughout the entire collection.
Pakistani designer Ahsannazir captured the audience’s attention with his soft and feminine collection featuring different shades of pink, lace, and embroidery, as well as long loose dresses made with satin. The collection promises to be a go-to for those who need a feminine touch to their wardrobe.
The Turkish ready-to-wear label Hukka showcased its colorful collection on the runways of IMFW24. The collection was full of bright reds, oranges, blues, and botanical patterns. Also, in contrast, the social media content creator Niki Shah walked on the runway in a full black look as the brand’s muse, standing out from the other models.
