The annual event which occurs after the celebration of Eid at Corporation Park is a two-day festival happening on April 29 and 30, focused on entertaining families with different activities, stalls, and a fun fair.
Eid is anticipated to happen on April 23, which denotes the conclusion of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan that starts on March 23.
This year, the organizers have announced their plan to have a Halal Food Festival at the park for the whole weekend, displaying different types of cuisines from the surrounding region. Blackburn has developed an extensive range of restaurants and takeaways, giving Manchester a run for its money in the Halal food market.
Mohammad Quraishi, the Festival Business Coordinator, expressed excitement to reintroduce Eid in the Park and to introduce Blackburn Halal Food Festival. He also shared that they have some plans to modernize the event and motivate Halal food businesses to showcase their flavors at the festival in the coming years.
