Saudi Arabia Could Be The Next Christmas Holiday Destination

The travel scope has completely changed in the past year. Most holiday plans are on hold due to the ongoing pandemic, with travelers opting to travel to nearby destinations or to countries with humid weather. Even without the Covid-19 restrictions, it would be hard to imagine travelling to Saudi Arabia to spend the Christmas holiday.

However, Saudi Arabi’s brand new project is expected to bring forth over 1 million tourists per year, with a high number of arrivals within the holiday period. The Red Sea Project is one of the world’s most ambitious luxury tourism developments—an exquisite sanctuary offering indulgent experiences, seamlessly customized to the unique needs of each visitor.

The project spans 28,000 km2 along Saudi Arabia’s western coastline and encompasses an archipelago of more than 90 pristine islands, miles of sweeping desert and dramatic landscapes that include volcanoes and canyons.

The project aims to welcome its first guests by the end of 2022, with the ultimate completion of the project being in 2030. The area is expected to contain 50 hotels, offering 8000 hotels rooms and around 1300 residential properties across 22 islands.

As per the Red Sea project master plan, 75 percent of the islands will remain undeveloped and nine have been designated as areas of special conservation interest. Nine islands will be designated as special conservation zones at this marine eco-resort.
