Khimar Toastmasters Club – Helping Muslim Women to Up Level Their Communication & Leadership Skills

Thanks to the dedication and commitment of the involved individuals, a legitimate Khimar Toastmasters club has been established. This toastmasters club is the first of its kind established to serve Muslim women around the world to up level their communication and leadership skills.

Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization with a global network of clubs that teaches public speaking and leadership abilities. The organization’s headquarters are in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, and it has over 345,000 members in over 15,900 clubs in 142 countries. Toastmasters International has been helping people from all backgrounds gain confidence as speakers and leaders since 1924.

Members of Toastmasters learn by speaking in front of groups and collaborating with others in a positive setting. A typical Toastmasters club consists of 20 to 30 members who meet once a week for an hour. Each meeting provides members with a variety of opportunities to:

Conduct meetings: Members are taught how to organize and run meetings.

Give impromptu speeches: Members give impromptu one- to two-minute presentations on assigned topics.

Present prepared speeches: Members deliver speeches based on Toastmasters’ communication and leadership curriculum projects. Speech organization, voice variation, language, gestures, and persuasion are among the subjects covered in the projects.

Offer constructive evaluation: An evaluator is appointed to each speaker, who points out strengths and makes suggestions for growth.
