The Minister of Commerce Dr. Majeed Al-Qasabi inaugurated the “Makkah Halal Forum” on Wednesday at the Makkah Chamber of Exhibitions and Events Center.
The inaugural session was held in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah Saleh Kamel, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as officials from many countries and specialists in the field of halal industries from various countries around the world.
The Minister stressed the status of Makkah as a destination and praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the halal industry sector and the reliability of the production of halal food and drinks until the logo made in Saudi Arabia became the most important Halal certification for various countries of the world.
Al-Qasabi said that the Saudi Vision 2030 contains many strategic goals and performance measurement indicators, in addition to a set of commitments based on pillars and axes. The public, private and non-profit sectors are participating in achieving these goals and that is under the governance of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs (CEDA).
At the end of the ceremony, six Memorandums of Understanding were signed between several local, Islamic and international entities, and the participants, sponsors and distinguished personalities who had a role in establishing this forum.
