Thailand Halal Assembly (THA) is an academic conference focusing on the field of Halal that includes activities such as the International Halal Science and Technology Conference (IHSATEC), the Halal Science, Industry, and Business International Conference (HASIB), the International Halal Standards and Certification Convention (IHSACC), and Thailand’s International Halal Expo (TIHEX).
THA was conceived in August 2014, when the Founding Director of the HSC was asked to present at the Japan Halal Summit in Tokyo, Japan. After having the opportunity to co-lecture with officials of the OIC’s Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), he discovered SMIIC played a significant part in the construction of the world Halal standard. THEY agreed to join SMIIC after talking with the Secretary General of the Central Islamic Council of Thailand and the Director of the Halal Standard Institute of Thailand.
This year’s topic is “Digitalizing Halal Initiatives for Fostering Halal Trust” in order to assure the quality of Halal products by leveraging digital technology to develop confidence in the Halal ecosystem, making it more accessible, transparent, and dependable for consumers, companies, and stakeholders. They are exploring how digital efforts may alter the Halal ecosystem, making it more transparent, trustworthy, and accessible.
