Raeesa Sya – Orkid Cosmetics

Having created three businesses and raised over RM1 million in funding, Raeesa Sya is an expert in growth hacking, social media strategy, digital marketing, brand identification, and the lean canvas business model.

She began her work in design and startups and majored in multimedia while studying graphic design at Curtin University in 2010. She founded and serves as CEO of Orkid Cosmetics at the moment. a millennial-focused online cosmetics brand that specializes in Halal goods.

Raeesa created Orkid Cosmetics to fill a gap in the Muslim cosmetics industry. Millennials looking for easily accessible, cruelty-free, vegan, kosher, and fashionable beauty goods are the target market for the e-commerce cosmetics line. In just ten months since its start, Orkid Cosmetics has amassed over 1,000 customers and 4,000 Instagram followers. Sya was listed as one of the 12 Under 30 South East Asian entrepreneurs by Tech in Asia in 2016 and as one of Marie Claire Malaysia’s Amazing Women in 2017.

As one of Malaysia’s up-and-coming young entrepreneurs, Raeesa Sya has successfully launched three businesses. She has a long number of accolades, including being named one of CLEO Hotshots 30 under 30 in 2014 and Tech in Asia’s 12 under 30 potential Southeast Asian entrepreneur in 2016, and being named one of Marie Claire’s 10 most inspiring women in Malaysia in 2017.
