In the wake of the global pandemic, Sana Aftab from Bhagat Barzulla, residing in Qatar, discovered her passion for crafting organic and halal soaps at home. Inspired by the popularity of organic soaps in Barcelona, she delved into the art of soap-making through online tutorials during the lockdown.
Sana’s journey began when she shared her creations on her Instagram handle, ‘Mountain Soap Company,’ gaining a dedicated following in Kashmir and Qatar. Encouraged by positive feedback, she decided to transform her hobby into a profession and ventured into the markets, introducing organic soaps that were not yet prevalent in Kashmir.
Utilizing resources readily available at home, including cooking oil, caustic soda, ittar, clay, charcoal masks, dried herbs, and honey, Sana began experimenting with various organic and halal soap formulations. What sets her soaps apart is the incorporation of locally sourced ingredients from different districts of the valley. For instance, her Sopore soap contains clay from Sopore, while the Pampore Soap features the fragrant essence of saffron, making it skin-friendly.
As her popularity grew, Sana now plans to establish a full-fledged soap-making unit in Srinagar, enabling bulk production of her sought-after organic and halal soaps. She aims to expand her reach by setting up factories in various districts, with the support of potential investments.
Sana’s natural soaps have become a preferred choice for weddings and special occasions due to their exceptional results. Embracing the beauty of nature, her handmade soaps have won the hearts of customers seeking an organic and wholesome bathing experience.
