From Friday, June 2 to Sunday, June 4, the Night Market Toronto Halal Tour was at the Ajax GO station, located at Westney Road and Fairall Street.

The tour’s “aim was to ensure that the Muslim community has peace of mind coming to the food tour, where no concerns should be felt and everything should be enjoyed,” according to the organizers in a release.

More than 15 vendors from The Meathead Store served all halal meat and poultry. Organizers stated that no pork or alcohol was provided, and that there will be no cross-contamination.

The trip will visit communities around Southern Ontario over six consecutive weekends. The first weekend was held in Mississauga from May 12 to 14, and over 28,000 people attended.

Following Ajax, the tour will visit Brampton from June 9 to 11, and then Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre on June 17 and 18.
