ASDA introduces an additional 160 isles in time for Ramadan

Asda, the UK’s supermarket giant, has announced plans to increase its support for Muslim customers during the holy month of Ramadan by introducing dedicated Ramadan aisles in 150 stores, a 47% increase from the previous year. The stores with the specialized aisles will be located in areas with high Muslim populations. Asda will also add 150 new product lines across all categories, including The Desi Doll Company’s innovative talking Muslim dolls, dates, and Ramadan Countdown Calendars with chocolate treats that educate children on the significance of Ramadan. The supermarket will also feature products from small, family-owned businesses that offer unique offerings and are passionate about making Ramadan and Eid special for Asda customers. The Muslim brothers Zuber and Mohsin Issa, who bought Asda in 2020, are well-known for their philanthropy and support for their community, including the construction of a new mosque and the donation of defibrillators to hospitals in East Lancashire through their Issa Foundation.
