The first-ever Mastercard-CrescentRating Muslim Gen Z: The Next Generation of Travellers report reveals that Muslim Gen Z travellers are seeking cultural immersion and nature excursions on their trips, and are becoming financially independent. Specifically, two-thirds of Muslim Gen Z travellers prioritize cultural immersion over traditional leisure activities like shopping and events. Additionally, 32% of them fund their trips independently rather than relying solely on their parents. Furthermore, the report found that almost half of respondents consider themselves environmental enthusiasts, with 77% willing to spend more on sustainable practices. Muslim Gen Z women are also crucial decision-makers in family travel planning, with 70% involved in the process. They prefer cultural immersion activities, and 63% are interested in learning something new while travelling. The report also highlights that faith-based services are important to Muslim travellers, with Halal food, prayer facilities, and water-friendly washrooms being essential factors for destinations. Finally, Muslim Gen Z travellers prefer to pay for expenses using debit or credit cards (73%), while 57% prefer cash.
