Osama Hanif had a strong desire to prove himself and to eat his favorite halal food in Kansas City. He is a 23-year-old franchisee of The Halal Guys, a national food chain that serves halal-certified food adhering to Islamic law. Hanif’s ambition led him to pursue opening The Halal Guys during the pandemic, even though the timing was unfavorable. Hanif’s interest in The Halal Guys began after watching videos about the business and its food, and he eventually signed a five-store deal with the company. Besides running The Halal Guys, Hanif founded Nexus Wholesale Imports, a wholesale company that sells products to retail stores and gas stations, and graduated with a degree in finance. Hanif loves The Halal Guys’ food so much that even if he did not bring it to Kansas City, he would be the first person in line when it opened.
