Farzana Rahman is the founder and the thought process behind the Desi Doll Company. She graduated in Maths and Statistics from Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh. She created the brand to help her kids after noticing a lack of Muslim friendly toys for kids on the market. “As a Muslim parent, I wanted to gently nurture their love for Islam but there weren’t any toys to help me do this”. She began the company a decade ago, without a second thought after making up her mind. “From concept to market, it took about 9 months to release the products” Farzana says.
When the Desi Doll Company was born, I made it my mission to design great toy resources that would help parents teach their children about Islam through, fun and interactive play”.
The Desi Doll Company has also recently won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade. “It’s a very proud moment for me, my family, my colleagues and my community, knowing that Her Majesty the Queen personally approves the winners” The company’s founder and designer says.
The Desi Doll Company is now in the process launching new additions to their range of dolls including a brand new “Aisha” Doll that comes with wonderful removable hijabs. Moreover, several lines of educational toys and awards later, Farzana Rahman still proudly leading as an educational toymaker centered on bringing a variety of unique and innovative educational toys to the market.
