The third edition of Arab Men’s Fashion Week which took place from January 28 to 30, ended with a bang at Dubai Design District, better known as d3.
After prior events were presented in a digital format, Arab Men’s Fashion Week Fall 2023 took place in-person this season, with COVID-19 safety safeguards in place.
Over three evenings, 15 runway presentations were presented in person and online, showcasing designers from the UAE and around the region, as well as the United States, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and France.
Furne One, the Filipino designer who created the couture company Amato in 2002, kicked off the event with a 30-piece collection named “Ambush.”
Miss Universe Paraguay 2021 Nadia Ferreira and the reigning Miss Universe first runner-up and Miss Universe Colombia 2020 Laura Olascuaga sported the designer’s characteristic crystal-embellished dresses and avant-garde shapes.
Elvir Aljicevic, a TikTok celebrity, and Emirati YouTuber Rashed Belhasa also walked the runway.
Aside from the runway events, there were a few shopping options, such as the FLTRD pop-up in conjunction with d3 restaurant 1Life.
FLTRD is a locally based concept store that showcases young and creative designers. The pop-up, which is open until February 1, allows fashion fans to shop the fall 2023 styles right off the rack.
The objective of Arab Men’s Fashion Week is to “showcase the region’s tremendous talent and creative thinking, particularly when it comes to broadening the narrative around menswear.” According to Al-Bastaki, executive director of Dubai Design District.
