When Akiba Dori, an interesting Japanese restaurant, launched in Dubai in 2018, it caught the city by storm. The restaurant showcases Tokyo’s quirky neon-lit side streets, which serve as cultural inspiration for people all over the world. Following the success of its first venue, the fun place has expanded to Saudi Arabia, debuting in Jeddah.
Akiba Dori, located in the heart of Jeddah’s dynamic Ar-Rawdah area, a neighborhood surrounded by art galleries and museums, provides a relaxed eating experience with their characteristic neon lighting, anime characters, and mellow lo-fi hip-hop soundtracks.
Their unique and eccentric street-style décor compliments their menu’s take on Japanese-inspired street food, which includes everything from substantial salads and soft wagyu sando to Neapolitan pizza and a selection of sushi. In addition to these, Akiba rock shrimps drizzled with Akiba’s secret spicy mayo sauce, lotus cheesecake, wagyu truffle maki with Grade-A wagyu wrapped sushi topped with the house sauce; and chicken katsu curry with a side of Japanese rice are amongst their specialties.
