Consider a world in which men and women are treated equally. A world without bias, preconceptions, or discrimination. A varied, equal, and inclusive world. A world in which diversity is recognized and cherished. The theme of International Women’s Day 2022 is “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow,” which recognizes the contributions of women and girls all over the world who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation, mitigation, and response to build a more sustainable future for all.
The Standard Huruvalhi is commemorating women in diving on International Women’s Day with Saudi Arabian PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer Nouf Alosaimi.
Nouf Alosaimi a dedicated diving instructor who set the record for the deepest scuba dive by a Saudi woman (yes, you read it correctly!). Nouf Alosaimi, who was born and reared in Taif, Saudi Arabia, moved to Manchester, England, to pursue her undergraduate degree in tourism management. She finished her PADI Divemaster course in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, a year later. Alosaimi, who has been diving since 2009, is Saudi Arabia’s sole female instructor. The 29-year-old diver spends her days exploring the Red Sea’s glistening blue waters, becoming acquainted with its species and natural beauty. This time, you may dive in the Maldivian seas with Alosaimi and anticipate to swim alongside a diversity of aquatic species, such as gray sharks, eagle rays, tropical fish, turtles, and much more!
Alosaimi will spend a week at the Standard Huruvalhi resort in the Maldives. The events follow from Monday 7th March till Friday 11th March.
