The formation and formal launch of the KP Halal Implementation Council was facilitated by Afaq Shamsi, President of the Halal Awareness& Research Council, while Prof. Dr. Najibul Haq, Adviser Health & Medical Education of the Prime Foundation, was appointed anonymously as chairperson of the KP Halal Implementation Council.

Members of the Council would include representatives from the Halal & Safe Food Authority as well as senior Ulama Mufti Jawad, Mufti Khalid, Mufti Yahya, Mufti Aqib Javed, and Mufti Masood Shah.

It’s worth noting that the KP Halal Implementation Council will serve as a conduit between food businesses and the Halal Food Authority, assisting in the application of the Halal and Safe Food Guidelines across the province. The Council and the PF will work together to increase food businesses’ knowledge of Halal and Safe Food methods, with the Halal and Safe Food Authority certifying them as Halal and Safe Food Businesses.

The council will enlist the help of local Ulama and congregational prayer leaders in recruiting and training food businesses. Ulama and a select group of food industry representatives were in attendance. They applauded the initiative and pledged their full support.
