Due to the summer heat, Qatar has said that it will be changing the operating hours of drive-through centers for vaccinations against Covid-19.
The Health Ministry said that as Qatar approaches the peak of summer months, starting from Sunday, the operating hours will change to 4pm to midnight daily at the Lusail and Al Wakra drive-through vaccination centers.
The two centers provide the second doses of the vaccines against COVID-19. More than 302,000 people have so far benefitted from the service, according to the ministry.
According to the ministry, “By limiting the operating hours to the late afternoon and evenings, members of the public using the drive-through centers will be able to enjoy the best possible user experience while the wellbeing of all staff will also be maintained.”
Qatar, a country of about 2.7 million population, started mass vaccinations against COVID-19 last December. At least 2.748 million doses have since been administered, according to the latest figures from the Qatari Health Ministry.
