Konichiwa Osaka! W Hotels Debuts in Japan with the Opening of W Osaka

W Hotels Worldwide, part of Marriott International has debuted in Japan with the opening of W Osaka. Rising 27 stories above the gingko tree–lined Midosuji Boulevard, W Osaka opened its doors today as the luxury brand’s first-ever outpost in the country.

The monolithic black facade by celebrated Osaka-born architect Tadao Ando presents a minimalist veneer that conceals flamboyant interiors by Amsterdam-based design studio Concrete, which was previously behind W London and W Verbier.

W Osaka intends to redefine the local hotel scene with the brand’s spirited spin on luxury as the perfect addition to this electric city.

W Osaka brings 337 striking guestrooms, including 35 Suites, two WOW Suites and one EWOW Suite (the brand’s take on the Presidential Suite) to the bustling city. The hotel features multiple dining and craft cocktail concepts including the WOO Bar and a second bar located on the expansive WET Deck (pool).

Bistro Oh.Lala is a collaboration with Yusuke Takada, chef-owner of the two-Michelin-starred Osaka venue La Cime, while Teppanyaki Mydo serves new interpretations of local comfort food, alongside cuts of Kuroge and Akaushi wagyu beef, in a beautiful space created by Japanese celebrity interior designer Yasumichi Morita and Osaka-born artist Seitaro Kuroda.

On the fourth floor of W Osaka, FIT offers the latest in fitness equipment, as well as a yoga room with a view. WET is the hotel’s indoor pool space with an LED ceiling to illuminate and amplify the fun. For guests who live by the brand’s ‘Detox.Retox.Repeat’ philosophy, AWAY SPA awaits to restore and revive, with five private treatment rooms.

Travelers looking to explore one of Japan’s most intoxicatingly beautiful and eccentric destinations will be able to connect to fabulous neighborhoods via the Osaka Loop Line which boasts 12 convenient stops throughout the city.
