Ooredoo Group has exceled throughout the years, even during the challenging year of 2020, thanks to its years of advanced strategic planning and investment in network development. The Group has managed to consistently uphold the customer expectations while launching new products to create the best experience for each of its customers.
In an interview given to Telecomreview, the Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Ooredoo Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulla Al Thani gave an overview of the efforts carried out by the Group to remain as the top leader amongst the competition in the sector.
He said that agility was key for Ooredoo Group to adapt to a fast-changing world and its promise to enrich people’s digital lives. As such, the advanced and reliable networks across Ooredoo Group assisted to meet the sudden surge in demand created by Covid-19.
Sheikh Mohammed also highlighted on the Group’s initiative to support the communities during the pandemic.
“From a community perspective, our companies organised a raft of initiatives designed to help support local governments and communities as they in turn sought to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect their citizens and residents. From mass awareness and education campaigns, to sanitisation drives, provision of social distancing signage and distribution of sanitisation packs, we’ve done everything to help limit the impact of the pandemic.”
With regards to the competition and the strategies in place for Ooredoo Group to remain as the leading network provider, Sheikh Mohamed said that competition drives them to foster innovations and provide diversified products and services. As such, Qatar become the first country in the world to launch the 5G Network through Ooredoo in 2018. Similarly, the Group has launched the commercial 5G Network in Kuwait in 2020.
Ooredoo Group was named Qatar’s Best Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) of The Year for 2020.
