The latest travel survey done by the global leader for halal-friendly hotels and villas, HalalBooking reveals that the main destination booked in 2020 across all market was Turkey. It further showcases that more than 70% had booked to travel to Turkey in 2021.
HalalBooking carried out an online survey in January 2021, which received almost 2000 responses from its customers. The survey focused on the travelers’ attitudes towards travel during the coronavirus pandemic.
Overall, English-speaking travelers are most confident to travel in 2021 with German-speakers at 79% coming a close second followed by French-speakers at 80%.
HalalBooking’s CEO, Elnur Seyidli said, “It is clear that the key to customer confidence in 2021, is offering complete flexibility. HalalBooking has brought in new measures such as free cancellation on most properties and ‘book now, pay later’ options to give customers greater flexibility and reassure them that they can book without risk. In this way, they will feel confident to book, knowing that they can cancel or reschedule if their plans change.”
The survey also indicate that Turkey was on the UK’s, Germany’s and other countries’ safe travel corridor lists for most of the summer 2020 season. This reflects the proactive response of the Turkish authorities, who introduced the ‘Safe Tourism Certification Programme’ in June 2020.
