Ever wished that you could have your own playhouse or go on one that offers absolute serenity to do some soul searching? The Bamboo Playhouse located in Kuala Lumpur’s Perdana Botanical Gardens is the place to go if you’re in Malaysia. This is without a doubt the most delightful architectural wonder which awaits you on the lake island in Kuala Lumpur’s oldest park.
Designed by Malaysian Architect, Eleena Jamil, the sustainable public pavilion features a three-dimensional floorspace and tree-like columns which support the roof, the playhouse blends into the surrounding landscape.
The playhouse can be described as a series of ‘wakafs’ (traditional vernacular structures) grouped together to form an animated and playful bamboo structure that blends harmoniously with the beautiful greenery of the botanical garden.
Visitors can enjoy meditative views of the large lake that stretches across the center of the gardens. The playhouse is also used as an event space for performances and exhibitions, so you can expect to see something festive.
